A 5 piece New Zealand band based in Sydney blending unpredictable urban funk, hard hitting hiphop and soulful harmony. Combining electro synth live instrumentation and a raw feel to split genres and form a new sound.
A number of highly-regarded albums have been released under the Sola Rosa moniker – 2001’s Solarized, 2003’s Haunted Out-takes, and Moves On in 2005 – each one picking up numerous nominations and getting Spraggon onstage for award acceptance speeches at both the NZ Music Awards and b-net Music Awards.
2009 saw the release of Get it Together tooled-up for maximum dancefloor impact & bolstered by a roll-call of vocalists & musicians running headlong into Sola Rosa’s sonic stirrings at full force – with vocal cuts from Spikey Tee ; German globetrotter Bajka; UK MC Serocee; & emerging Wellingtonian songstress Iva Lamkum.

A psychedelic Afro-Soul explosion in 12 parts, The Hot Grits cover the stylistic ground between deep Funk, Soul and Afrobeat. From Meters-style struts superfast deep funk assaults to churning Afrobeat Soul. When THG hit their stride, no-one in the room is immune from the power and sheer soulfulness of their groove, and band and audience become one in a giant, convulsing testament to the power of good music. Miscreant’s debut album – Complicated Characters – takes the listener on a journey over fourteen tracks of eclectic modern rock.
The album was recorded with acclaimed producer Andrew Buckton (The D4, Steriogram, Sommerset) at the infamous Studio 203 in Auckland and mastered by Ryan Smith (Motley Crue, Talking Heads, Live) at Sterling Studios in New York.

Reggae and Hip Hop. Sonically and stylistically, the band has varied influences, such as; Rollins Band, Beastie
Boys, Helmet, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Rage Against the Machine to older influences such as; Public Enemy,
Jimi Hendrix, The Wailers, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
