Svelte was formed by Supergroove members, Tim Stewart and Ben Sciascia with drummer Jamie Woolright – son of legendary New Zealand bass player, Paul Woolright from Ticket and Hello Sailor.

Each frame of the band playing was printed, cut out, placed into a small set and photographed frame by frame.
The music video was animated by the band members using only what they had available: A DV video camera, a colour printer, paper, scissors and a digital stills camera.

Quite a task, and pulled off real well.

Coming of the 2009 debut album Dog this is St James Infirmary. Formed with the aim of playing drinking music for drunks. Their style has been described as “funeral pop” and “carny prog” and generally runs in the vein of dark and grinding country music. And a note from the website reads; Von Klap are terribly interested in selling out, and are open to offers. Please get in touch if this interests you.

Jay processes all the skills you need to be a stand out emcee: good voice, great timing, clear delivery, but what really sets him apart from his peers is his skewed perspective on life. His self titled debut album released in October 2007 paints pictures of a mundane life only broken up with drug abuse and dole payments.

Isaac is a classically trained trumpet player and self-taught producer, vocalist and DJ with a love of R&B, soul, funk, jazz, fusion, world and electronic music. Over the last decade Isaac has been an integral member of: Solaa, Opensouls, Eru Dangerspiel and The Recloose Live Band with whom he has toured Europe, the US, Australia and Japan.
Isaac Aesili’s debut solo album Eye See is a rich tapestry of sound with R&B at its heart, and lashings of soul, reggae and funk woven within. Experimental and futuristic in some parts, warm and soulful in others, the album, an extension of its author, is a tribute to diversity.

Since 1999 Sola Rosa’s Andrew Spraggon has been tantalising listeners with otherworldly aural experiences, honing his craft and taking Sola Rosa from a self-released one man project to fully-fledged live powerhouse along the way. He’s kept good company on the road and in the studio, Sola Rosa counting members of Dimmer, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Goldenhorse, Pluto and Sommerset amongst the ranks over the years, not to mention pilfering the best members of Che Fu, King Kapisi and Anika Moa’s bands and tapping the talents of internationally renowned artists like Nathan Haines and Spikey Tee.
All those different nods don’t just show how well Sola Rosa’s recorded material is regarded, but how hard it is to categorise, fusing elements of diverse genres with skewed soundtracks rubbing shoulders with elements of dub, hip hop, lounge and jazz along the way. This diversity comes to the fore again on the much-anticipated new album from Sola Rosa – Get It Together.
