After various bands James went on to creating demented soundscapes and wild plasti-pop crossover tunes with a simple home PC and an electric guitar. Nowadays when he is not playing effected guitar for SJD, he can generally be found hiding out in his home studio where he is currently producing his first album, which is shaping up to be a strangely cohesive collection of the melancholic to the triumphant.

Hailing from the musical south of Christchurch. Dukes sound like rock’n'rhythm’n'soul. It’s the good times mixed interminably with nostalgia and melancholy. According to peers the Dukes are undoubtedly the South Island’s latest and greatest musical act and with invitations to play Nashville, Tennessee, they’ll be riding that old freight train one way or another.

The Making of Turtle Pizza Cadillacs

Coco Solid is an underground electrorapper seducing and shaking live crowds while churning out bangers from Auckland City. Combining Miami and Detroit booty-bass with her own trademark minimal electro, she’s rhyming about everything; sex, science and the daily grind…
Coco Solid showcases a new disco-rap anthem Turtle Pizza Cadillacs on her international tour. The track was co-written, played and produced by Copenhagen based producer Robin Hannibal.

Dayglo Spectres, the fifth SJD long-player, jubilantly shouts ‘set the controls for the heart of the dancefloor‘. No strobe is left unturned as “Dayglo Spectres” effortlessly combines the bombastic beats of ground-breaking early albums with the heart–breaking melodies that characterise more recent SJD releases.
So come on and join the party; the venues have been booked, the band is waiting and the road beckons. SJD’s Spring 2008 Dayglo Spectres Tour will soon be at a dancefloor near you. Like the man says, best get moving or move aside!
